Please read all the following in full which contains important information.
Driving lesson bookings/ Driving lessons/ Practical driving tests are taken with the understanding a pupil or parent/ guardian has read, agreed to and accepted all the terms and conditions prior to booking a course of Driving lessons or commencing Driving lessons with Chevron Driving School and take effect without the requirement of your signature.
- To take advantage of the cheaper hourly rate for lessons, all Payments for Block bookings are to be made upfront before the first lesson, – Pay as you Go lessons Payment is required the day before a lesson is due to commence.
- All payments are to be made by bank transfer via the Chevron driving school website as per the details shown on that website, cash is not accepted as payment.

- The 1.5 hrs Taster/ Trial lesson is designed for people new to driving with no previous experience.
- You are required to give a minimum of 24 hours notice should you wish to cancel a driving lesson, for anything less than 24 hours you may be charged for the missed lesson. Please contact your instructor to cancel and rearrange your lesson. Like wise if your instructor is ill/ unavailable they will contact you.
- The day before your lesson a confirmation whatsapp or text message will be sent please confirm your availability by replying to the whatsapp or text message, doing so will keep your lesson booked and help your instructor plan their diary. If for any reason this is not possible please contact your instructor to advise.
- Chevron Driving School and your instructor cannot be held responsible for a lesson cancellation due to a mechanical breakdown or accident but will endeavour to find a replacement vehicle and rebook a lesson as soon as possible in all cases not liable for damages or any consequential loss. Chevron Driving School and your instructor cannot also be held responsible for bad weather which in the view of the instructor will prevent lessons from taking place, your instructor will rebook a lesson/ lessons and no charge will be incurred in all cases your instructor or chevron driving school will not be liable for damages or any consequential loss.
- Your instructor has the right to choose the area suitable for a pupils training – depending on the immediate area where a pupil lives or wishes to commence a lesson. Your instructor may have to drive to a more suitable area to commence a driving lesson – this requirement is for everyone’s safety.
- The instructor is entitled to withdraw their own vehicle for the use of any test at anytime including the pupils practical driving test day for reasons including but not limited to, sickness, injury and pupil not being test ready. All practical driving tests are to be booked with the approval of your instructor when the instructors vehicle is to be used for a practical driving test or your instructor is required on test day when using your own car. Practical driving test dates are a date when the pupil hopefully will be deemed test ready – but this cannot be guaranteed. You (pupil) agree with your instructor to reschedule your practical driving test when requested by your instructor if the instructors car is to used for any test and lessons are to continue.
All test candidates (pupils) agree to share and send a copy of their electronic version of the DL25 Driving test report form with their driving instructor.
The DVSA send a report form immediately after a candidate’s practical test to the email provided by the candidate at the time of booking their test.
Sharing your DL25 will help your instructor with any future training which may be required and keep an accurate score.
- If the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency cancel a candidates test, Chevron Driving School and the instructor cannot be held responsible for the actions of the DVSA. In such cases a new test date is usually offered to the candidate free of charge by the DVSA. The instructor will support where possible any claim to the DVSA for out of pocket expenses you may have if your test is cancelled at short notice.
- A pupils test day is a 2.5 hours fee when the instructors vehicle is used or the instructor is present. Which consists of – 1.5 hour warm up followed by a practical driving test and finally a drive home by your instructor, which is payable in advance to the instructor. The test fee paid to the DVSA does not cover your instructors time or any car hire.
- Your instructor and Chevron driving school will not accept liability or be held responsible for any fines or penalty points imposed by the authorities for reckless driving or failing to drive to the correct standard during a practical driving test. Any fines, penalty points imposed are the sole responsibility of the candidate taking the practical driving test.
- In the event a practical driving test coincides with a booked driving lesson you (the pupil) agree your lesson will need to be rescheduled in order to accommodate a practical driving test. Please be aware this may be within the 24hrs usually required to rearrange a lesson but may also benefit you and your practical driving test in the future.
- Your instructor (not chevron driving school) will inform you 1 month prior to any lesson price changes.
- The instructor and Pupil will abide by an equal opportunity policy and will not discriminate against age, race, colour, creed, sexual orientation or background.
- Driving lessons may be recorded with the consent/ agreement of a pupil or parent/ guardian for everyone’s safety this will be via Dash Cam. No sound or video will be recorded inside the training vehicle – all dash cam clips are usually disposed of within 48hrs unless there is a need to retain – the purpose of the recording is for insurance or any other claims.
- Any block booking, Gift vouchers or lessons/ hours of tuition paid for in advance, must commence within two months of date of purchase and used within three months of date of purchase. Any block booking, Gift vouchers or lessons/ hours of tuition not fulfilled within three months of the initial payment date will be forfeited unless agreed in writing and signed by your instructor.
- A refund request which can be made during the initial three months period for any block booking, Gift voucher or lessons/ hours of tuition not used within three months of the initial payment date will be subject to an administration charge equivalent to a 1 hour Pay as you go lesson at the time of requesting a refund.. All lessons/ hours of tuition taken and used from a block booking will be charged at the standard pay as you go hourly rate at the time of making the booking.
Any outstanding unused block booking, lessons/ hours of tuition would then be refunded. Any refund request that is genuine will be paid via bank transfer after two calendar months of receiving such a request by your instructor not Chevron Driving School.

- Gift Vouchers are to be handed to your instructor as proof of payment on the first lesson.
- Gift Vouchers are non transferable.
- Chevron driving school reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time by posting changes on their website. You (the pupil/ parent – guardian) will be informed of any changes to the terms and conditions that would personally effect you (the customer) by your instructor via WhatsApp or text message
- Due to the Coronavirus pandemic all pupils will be asked and agree to washing their hands or using hand gel/ hand wipes before entering the training vehicle at the start of each lesson. Face masks are not compulsory – but may be worn. If a pupil appears unwell at the start or during their lesson the lesson will be cancelled. Every effort will be made to keep the inside of your training vehicle clean from germs, but this cannot be guaranteed taking and continuing with lessons is an agreement of this. The inside of a training vehicle at every point of contact will be cleaned by your instructor with sanitising wipes/ spray in between each lesson.
- Approved Driving Instructors (ADI’s) are self employed. Any payments and the provision for driving lessons are a contract between the instructor and pupil not Chevron Driving school. Any Payments made directly to Chevron Driving School and not the instructor will be passed to the instructor in full.
- Pupils should be punctual for their lessons in the event of a pupil not turning up for their lesson the instructor will normally wait 10 minutes after trying to contact the pupil before abandoning the lesson, the lesson fee being forfeited or becoming due for payment before any future lessons can take place. Please advise your instructor if you are going to be slightly late to avoid any charges. If your instructor is running late due to unforeseen circumstances where possible every effort will be made to contact the pupil, any lesson time lost will be made up either at the end of the lesson or next available/ suitable time.
- Chevron driving school and your instructor reserves the right to terminate a lesson in the event of a pupil being unfit to drive for any reason. Including but not limited too – Excessive worrying and high anxiety, illness, lack of sleep, alcohol or drugs, abusive and threatening behaviour, the lesson fee becoming payable in all cases.
- A pupil must inform their instructor if they are taking any medicine or have an injury – especially that which may effect their ability to drive safely/ as directed by their doctor.
- All driving lessons are on a one to one basis, as a rule no passengers are allowed accept for DVSA officials during a driving test.
- Mobile phones are not to be used unless the vehicle is parked safely with the engine switched off.
Any items or valuables left in the training vehicle are not the responsibility of Chevron driving school or the instructor.
- Suitable foot wear is to be worn during a lesson, flip flops, work boots and open toed shoes are not considered acceptable for safely reasons.
- As a pupil please be aware of all legal requirements stipulated by the DVSA, especially the eye sight test. Chevron driving school and your instructor will not be held responsible for any failure of a person to meet the legal requirements on a test.
- In the event of an emergency or for reasons of health and safety as is deemed necessary by your instructor there may be a need by your instructor to control the steering wheel, change gear or use the dual controls of a training vehicle or take any action as needed. The instructor will try to avoid any physical contact where possible.
- All pupils agree to have weekly lessons and where necessary set time aside for extra driving lessons as directed by your instructor . Gaps of more than 2 weeks in driving lessons could result in you (the pupil) losing any future lessons.
- Whilist your instructor will make every effort to ensure that any training vehicle used and supplied by themselves for any test will be fully road worthy and comply with all legal requirements at the start of a practical driving test. A pupil, parent or guardian agree the instructor and chevron driving school will not be held responsible for any vehicle failure that occurs during a test which is outside of their control and in all cases not liable for damages or any consequential loss.
- All outstanding payments and accounts are to be settled in full prior to any practical driving test.
- When using your instructors training vehicle for any test or request your instructor to be present at any test you, pupil, parent or guardian agree to book your practical driving test at Sale (M/cr) test centre between test appointments 09.12 and 13.40 Monday to Friday. Test appointments outside of these times including the weekend are not available.
All Theory tests and Practical driving tests are booked by and the sole responsibility of the pupil, parent or guardian.
It is also the responsibility of the pupil, parent or guardian to monitor on a regular basis for any correspondence from the DVSA and where necessary reply to the DVSA regarding their test and make any changes to their test be it theory or practical test via the DVSA where necessary.
To include in accordance with the DVSA cancellation period at the time of booking a test and any further matters affecting a test or cancellation of their test.
Chevron driving school and your instructor will not take any responsibility for the loss of any test fees or test.
37-A. Your instructor will teach you (pupil) to the best of your abilities at the time of your learning to drive. Learning to drive can take time depending on a pupils ability to learn and the speed any new learning can take place. There is no minimum or maximum amount of lessons or guaranteed hours of tuition to be test ready. I may at my discretion terminate your driving tuition/lessons with no further lessons being offered. if your conduct (towards instructor or other road users), progress or commitment to lessons and learning consistently falls below the standard that I would reasonably expect to teach you (pupil) to drive safely and be test ready.
37-B. Taking and passing a mock practical driving test with your driving instructor can be a guide to a pupils suitability to be test ready but does not guarantee passing a DVSA practical driving test with a DVSA test examiner.
- At your instructors discretion they (your instructor) will allow their training vehicle to be used for a maximum of three attempts of the practical driving test per pupil. Providing the pupil is test ready as deemed by your instructor. The free online theory training is offered to pupils of Chevron driving School only – on a limited basis providing the following rules are agreed . Once a pupil has passed their theory test or failure to use the theory app for 1 week, stopped driving lessons or any misuse of the free online training will result in the theory training app being withdrawn.
- a, These terms and conditions as listed which you (pupil,parent or guardian) have read,agreed and accepted need only be agreed to and accepted once.
b, As a customer these terms and conditions must be agreed to and accepted online once through chevrondrivingschool.uk website before any payment for lessons will be accepted by chevron driving school and lessons commence protect both you pupil, parent or guardian and instructor both parties understanding their own responsibilities.
c, Agree as a customer to print a copy of these terms and conditions in full and retain to be inline with and as part of the overall terms and conditions.
